With this issue of Capital Connector, we celebrate these successes and take the opportunity to wish our partners in this fine state a happy and healthy holiday season.
Celebrating Princeton Innovation
Princeton Innovation is a campus-wide initiative that aims to benefit humanity through innovation and entrepreneurship. In FY2023, Princeton University researchers received $298 million in external funding for research, disclosed 113 new inventions, filed 183 new patent applications, and were issued 27 U.S. patents. Since 2020, 22 startups have been launched based on discoveries made at Princeton.
"Innovation spans the disciplines at Princeton, not only in the sciences and engineering but in the creative spirit and scholarship of the social sciences and humanities," says Craig B. Arnold, Vice Dean for Innovation. From a patented technology to check the fitness and reliability of battery cells and a new method to improve semiconductor chip manufacturing, to a behavior-centered architectural reinvention of public toilets, Princeton innovations are making an impact.
